SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Sept. 10, 2020 — Drury University has again landed on several annual lists of the top national and regional universities. The lists’ editors cited the high value of a Drury degree, teaching excellence and opportunities for hard-working students of all backgrounds.
The Princeton Review
Drury made The Princeton Review’s highly selective national list of “The Best 386 Colleges” and listed Drury as one of the best colleges and universities in the Midwest.
One of The Princeton Review’s most popular guides, “The Best 386 Colleges” ratings are based on surveys of 143,000 students at top colleges that includes a wide representation by region, size, selectivity and character. Published annually since 1992, the book includes detailed profiles of each school with rating scores in multiple categories. This is the third consecutive year Drury has been included in the guide.
In their assessment of Drury, students noted a friendly and actively social environment, opportunities for leadership roles on campus, and a personalized academic experience thanks to the Your Drury Fusion program. Classes are “rigorous” yet “the faculty works closely with students to help them be successful,” according to students quoted in the survey.
A vibrant campus atmosphere helped Drury rank No. 15 on TPR’s short list of schools where students from different types of backgrounds say they interact frequently and easily. Drury also made TPR’s list of the nation’s 400 “greenest” colleges for its sustainability efforts.
Washington Monthly
Washington Monthly placed Drury on two of its annual lists in its current issue: the national list of Best Master’s Universities(four-year schools that also offer a significant number of graduate programs) and the Midwest Region “Best Bang for the Buck” list. That list ranks schools according to how well they help students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.
Washington Monthly’s annual college guide began in 2005 and “calls attention to colleges that serve the best interests of taxpayers and the country as a whole – including by enrolling and graduating students of modest means,” according to the editors. All of the magazine’s rankings are based on three broad categories: social mobility, research and service.
Money
Personal finance website Money named Drury to its seventh annual list of “Best Colleges in America, Ranked by Value,”which offers a practical analysis of more than 700 four-year colleges from across the country. The editors cited the fact that 97 percent of students at Drury receive grants – include 100 percent of students with demonstrated financial need.
