The Army ROTC scholarship is open to high school seniors nationwide. Students can apply online for 3-year or 4-year scholarships that are accepted at various universities across the nation, including Drury.
The application period usually starts in mid-June, with three annual scholarship boards in October, January, and March. If you visit the Army ROTC office during a campus tour, it can serve as an informal interview to assess your chances of receiving a scholarship.
ROTC scholarships are competitive, based on merit, considering factors like academics, sports, and leadership. After the national boards, the process moves to the university level.
Students who are eligible but did not get a national scholarship, may still have a chance to be awarded a 3-year campus-based scholarship through the Army ROTC Scholarship and Enrollment Officer.
High school seniors applying to a service academy such as USMA West Point, USNA Annapolis, USAFA Colorado Springs, etc., should also apply for an Army ROTC scholarship as an alternative. Applying while in high school is the best way to compete for a 4-year scholarship.
Eligible college students who are interested in becoming an Army Officer through ROTC can apply for an Army ROTC scholarship while pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Interested students should contact the Scholarship and Enrollment Officer to schedule an information session. This will provide the best overview of eligibility requirements and outline a path forward.
Veteran students currently in the USAR or ARNG can pursue career progression to become an Army Officer through ROTC. SMP students can still compete for active duty unless they elect to combine both military benefits and ROTC scholarship. In that case, a student would typically remain in their assigned service component after graduation.
