Springfield, MO, August 16, 2024 – Following up on the historic 150th anniversary, Drury University begins its 151st academic year with 435 new students. This year’s incoming class is composed of 342 freshmen and 93 transfer students. Of the total, 58 students are coming from 22 other countries and the domestic students hail from 28 states.
“We are excited to welcome this historic class to Drury University. This group of students is incredibly qualified and the most diverse class in terms of students of color and international students” stated Dr. Kevin Kropf, Executive Vice President of Enrollment Management; Marketing & Communications. “This year also marks a number of new beginnings, including our Engineering program led by Drs. Robert Throne and Loraine Olson, the welcoming of two new deans — Prof. Josh Nason for the Hammons School of Architecture and Dr. Daniel Bumblauskas for the Breech School of Business Administration — and the first active year of Drury’s 19th president, Dr. Jeff Frederick.”
The fall semester will commence with Drury’s annual Service Plunge on Monday, August 19 between 8:30 – 11:00 a.m., as the Student Activities Fair and Pantherpalooza will take place that evening on the Kellogg Green and Drury Lane, respectively. Classes will then start on Tuesday.
Drury has been at the forefront of higher education for over a century and a half, providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. Founded in 1873 and the first higher educational institute in Springfield, Drury has grown from a small school with just a handful of students to a thriving university with a dynamic student body and a broad range of academic programs.
