SPRINGFIELD, Mo., November 18, 2024 — Drury University recently hosted a formal Blessing of the Mercy at Drury Panther Clinic, located on campus in Weiser Gym. The clinic is now fully operational and serving the medical needs of the Drury community. A nurse practitioner provides all medical services at the Panther Clinic, including private medical consultations, immunizations, and self-care recommendations.
“This is a great on-campus resource for the Drury Community,” said Dr. Tijuana Julian, Executive Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. “Many students and employees have already utilized services offered at the Panther Clinic. Mercy has been a great partner in establishing this clinic on our campus.”
The Blessing Ceremony, held on Monday, November 18, 2024, included remarks from representatives of both Mercy and Drury. Refreshments were served, and attendees were offered tours of the clinic.
“This clinic is an important part of daily life on campus for students and faculty, and we’re proud to ensure it continues to serve this role,” said John Myers, President of Mercy Springfield Communities. “As a mission-based organization, it’s our goal to actively plug into the Springfield community to better serve the patients we care for, and the Drury clinic is a great example of that.”
Who Can Use the Panther Clinic?
The clinic is available to full-time day students, international students, Drury GO students, graduate students, full-time faculty, full-time staff, and dependents of faculty and staff covered under Drury University’s health care plan. Additionally, children at least 18 months old, accompanied by a parent or guardian, may also access the clinic’s services.Please remember to bring your photo ID and insurance card to your appointment. Without these, you will need to pay out of pocket.
Clinic Location and Services
The clinic is conveniently located on the west side of Weiser Gym, with an exterior entrance facing Drury Lane. Services provided include pre-participation physicals, gonorrhea and chlamydia testing (urine sample), pregnancy tests (urine sample), strep tests, urinalysis, COVID-19 testing, seasonal flu testing, TB testing, and vaccinations such as seasonal flu, meningococcal, and tetanus.
