SPRINGFIELD, Mo., December 12, 2024 — Drury University proudly announces Dr. Justin M. Gambini, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, as the new Program Director for its Physician Assistant (PA) Program. Known to colleagues and students as “Dr. G,” he brings nearly two decades of experience in clinical practice, graduate medical education, and program leadership to this vital role. His appointment underscores Drury’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and preparing the next generation of compassionate, skilled providers.

Dr. Gambini earned his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) from the University of Lynchburg, where he focused on integrating Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) into PA education — a critical skill for modern medical practice. A Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), Dr. Gambini is an accomplished speaker, author, and clinician. His expertise spans emergency medicine, critical care, and rural and international critical access healthcare, making him uniquely equipped to guide Drury’s PA Program to new heights.
“With over a decade of leadership experience in PA education, including program development, accreditation success, and national advocacy, I am confident in my ability to elevate Drury University’s PA program into a premier destination for future healthcare leaders,” says Dr. Gambini. “My track record includes building top-tier faculty teams, securing clinical partnerships, and enhancing student success through innovative curriculum design and personalized mentorship. I am passionate about shaping a forward-thinking program rooted in excellence, collaboration, and service, positioning Drury’s Physician Assistant as a nationally recognized leader in PA education.”
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Gambini has a deep passion for global health. He has worked extensively with non-governmental organizations in Africa and Central and South America, often founding initiatives to bring critical healthcare to underserved communities. These experiences improve lives and provide transformative opportunities for PA students to gain hands-on experience in global health.
