Springfield, Mo., June 18, 2024 – Drury University is delighted to announce Dr. Daniel Bumblauskas as the new Dean of the Breech School of Business Administration. Bumblauskas, former Executive Director and Associate Dean of the Craig School of Business at Missouri Western State University, has extensive experience leading programs that provide students with powerful advantages for exceptional outcomes after graduation.

“I came into the professoriate to impact the development and lives of my students,” he said. “I have seen the results of this work, and I’m always delighted to see alumni from my courses and programs doing so well both personally and professionally. I can confidently say that I look forward to bringing that energy to support the development of students, faculty, and staff at Drury.”

Bumblauskas has a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and an A.L.M. in General Management with an emphasis on Operations Management from Harvard University. He was formerly the Executive Director and Associate Dean at Missouri Western State University and MBA Coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa, and he has worked in colleges in China, Seattle, Dublin, and Italy.

Dr. Beth Harville, University Provost, believes Daniel has a lot to offer to Drury. “Dr. Bumblauskas has a diverse, multi-disciplinary background with both corporate and academic leadership experience.” She added, “He brings proven strategies for developing strong academic programs and forging collaborations with business partners.”

Bumblauskas’ unique industry and academic background will enhance external partnerships, study abroad programs, and the societal impact of the Breech School. He will ensure graduates are prepared for work, industry, or graduate studies. With experience developing undergraduate and graduate programs, including an executive MBA, he will work to continue developing graduate offerings and support AACSB accreditation. Additionally, his expertise in supply chain management will benefit faculty and programs, and his former success in building a technology alliance center demonstrates his capability to foster significant institutional projects.

The Breech School of Business Administration and Economics was established in May 1957 through the financial commitment of Drury alumnus Ernest R. Breech. Its curriculum blends business education with Drury’s liberal arts tradition, serving as a model for professional schools. The Breech School holds AACSB accreditation, a distinction achieved by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide, showcasing its commitment to excellence. Over the years, it has maintained its liberal arts foundation while strengthening its business education programs.
