The Institute for Lifelong Learning

Drury University > The Institute for Lifelong Learning

Welcome to The Institute for Lifelong Learning (TILL)

If you enjoy learning about a wide range of topics from speakers who are well-versed in their respective fields, then you are in the right place – The Institute for Lifelong Learning!

TILL was created in the year 2000 for the benefit of people who are interested in continuing their education and meeting other people in the process. We operate under the auspices of Drury University which, through its generosity and support of continuing education, allows us, at no cost, the use of a meeting room on campus, hosts our website, and provides other services as well.

We meet every Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 in the lower level of Drury University’s Olin Library except for the months of January, August, and December. If you are not already a member of TILL, you are welcome to attend one or two meetings to determine if you would like to join us.

Membership is only $35, and that’s for nearly 40 presentations every year.As a member, you will also be provided with a parking pass good for use on Drury University’ campus, but the availability of a parking space is not guaranteed.

Parking may be available starting at 1:30 in Lot 4 – (see this map at location #5 for the library, then look above it for Lot 4) as well as on the campus’ side streets. There are steps as well as a ramp to the building and, for those who wish, there is an elevator inside the building which goes to our lower level meeting room.

Hoping to see you at our next meeting,
The TILL Executive Committee

Why Join The Institute for Lifelong Learning?

There are a variety of reasons why so many people join TILL.

Among them are:

  • The desire to continue learning and expanding one’s horizons.
  • The wish to stay connected with other people in a learning environment.
  • To be entertained, as well as informed, and to retain the ability to think critically.
  • To have a weekly activity in which to be involved that nurtures one’s self.

Regardless of why you may join the TILL, we look forward to you having as part of our group!

Parking for TILL

Parking for TILL meetings is sometimes available on campus. Annual TILL dues come with a pass for parking which should be hung from your vehicle’s rearview mirror and be visible from outside the vehicle.

If a parking space cannot be found on campus or in Lot 4 (see above), TILL members can park off campus in without using a Drury University parking tag.

If a non-member wishes to park on campus to attend a TILL offering, a temporary parking sticker can be obtained from the campus Security Office. It is located in the lower level of Findlay Student Center – see this map at location #23) or in the Registration Office in Bay Hall the first building on your left as you drive into campus on Drury Lane.

If a member has a Drury ID#, they may receive a photo ID card from the Security Office (lower level of Findlay Student Center) at a cost of $10.

You can view the printable map explaining parking for the TILL. And please be sure to remove all valuables from the interior of your vehicle and put them where they cannot be seen by someone outside the vehicle. While the campus and surrounding area are safe, it is still suggested that you lock your vehicle when you leave it parked anywhere.
