About the Area Coordinator Role

The Area Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant residential community at Drury University. This position involves overseeing the daily operations of designated residence halls or housing areas, supporting student development, and ensuring a safe and inclusive living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Community Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to Resident Assistants (RAs) and student staff, promoting a positive residential experience.
  • Student Support: Serve as a resource for students, offering guidance on academic, personal, and social matters. Facilitate community-building activities and support student engagement initiatives.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage housing operations including assignments, conduct processes, and policy enforcement to maintain community standards.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. Previous experience in residence life, student affairs, or a related area is beneficial.
