How to Apply

Application Submission

For the 2025 – 2026 cycle (program beginning fall 2026), we are accepting applications until January 15, 2026.

We encourage you to apply early in the cycle to increase your chance of acceptance into the program. Interviews will start in the fall of 2025 for those matriculating in 2026.

Only two courses may be outstanding at the time of application. Required outstanding prerequisite courses must be completed with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Standardized tests (GRE or PA-CAT) are not required.

The following application materials must be received and verified by CASPA before an application will be reviewed:

  • Submission of college transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Record healthcare hours in the appropriate section of the CASPA application (Experiences) indicating a minimum of 500 hours of direct patient care completed.
  • All applicants must shadow at least one physician assistant with a minimum of 16

Admissions Process and Timeline

  • Completed CASPA applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are verified.
  • Interviews for the class starting in August 2025 will continue until the class is full.
  • Applicants selected for interviews will be notified by email.
  • Interviews will be conducted in-person, and participation is required to be considered for a seat in the program.

Application Review

The Admissions Committee will begin reviewing verified applications as they are received.  Applications will be reviewed based on the following admission criteria:

  • Academic achievement (cumulative GPA, prerequisite GPA, science GPA, and academic rigor)
  • Patient care experience
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Physician Assistant shadowing experience
  • Personal statement
  • Noncognitive considerations (see below)

Successful Applicants

Successful applicants will meet all admission requirements, communicate an understanding of the PA profession, and demonstrate the ability to handle rigorous education.

Noncognitive Factors

We seek to recruit and retain students with diverse backgrounds whose qualifications align with the program’s mission and goals. Applicants to the program will be evaluated holistically. Candidates with the following experiences will be given additional consideration:

  • Active-duty military or veterans
  • First-generation college students from Missouri
  • Drury University alumni or current students
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated service through volunteering

Acceptance Process

Final admission decisions will be based upon in-person interviews, the Admissions Committee’s recommendations, and the application review. After completed interviews, candidates will be notified of their acceptance status within two weeks of the interview date. If accepted into the program, a non-refundable seat deposit of $1,000 is due within two weeks of notification.
