As the principles and policies behind Tuition Exchange benefits can vary from university to university, below are some FAQs about the Tuition Exchange process and decisions as they relate to Drury. Keep in mind that there are likely other internal deadlines at your home institution that must be met in order to apply for TE benefits.
TE applications are due to our Drury University Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer (see contact info below) by December 18.
Yes. However, TE scholarship considerations favorably consider those that have turned in the necessary paperwork prior to the deadline.
No. Dependents of TE filers need to fill out an application for admission and be admitted in order to be considered. If both of these have not occurred, a dependent cannot be considered for TE Scholarships at Drury.
Historically, Drury has had three incoming students be awarded TE scholarships in a calendar year.
TE deliberations are initially made in January with initial offers made in February.
No. TE offers are made on a rolling basis after February. Once three TE scholarship offers have been accepted, no further offers will be made. With dependents applying for TE scholarships at multiple universities, the timeline for all three acceptances to be assured can take a matter of weeks or many months.
Wide-ranging! An exhaustive list of the implications would be impossible to denote, however, in regards to how a TE scholarship impacts other Drury-based aid, see the note below:
Financial Implications
Drury University reserves the right to withdraw part or all of any Drury-funded scholarship if a student’s tuition is paid in full or in part by an outside/government agency. The Tuition Exchange Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and thereby prohibits any further Drury-funded aid (including but not limited to academic scholarships, grants, etc.) from supplementing the Scholarship. Moreover, other Policies within Drury University’s Student Handbook may apply to the Scholarship as well.
Selection is based on a comprehensive look at the candidates and their application, but typically focus is placed on a student’s academic record and/or the length of service of the importing parent. Favorable consideration is given to those who have met the admission and TE requirements prior to the December 18 deadline.
Eligible students are awarded a maximum of eight (8) semester units.
Yes. It will be recertified by the Drury University Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer
Drury will send a letter informing awarded students that they have been offered a TE scholarship. The letter has a page that must be signed and returned in order to confirm the intention of the student.
