ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS:
Students must be fully admitted to a degree seeking program before they can receive financial aid. Students who want to receive financial aid as a graduate or post-baccalaureate student must file the FAFSA and fill out an application for a Direct Student Loan. Please review the following eligibility statements to determine if you must complete additional steps to receive Financial Aid.
Graduate Students and Financial Aid Eligibility
Graduate students must be fully admitted through the College of Graduate Studies to a degree seeking graduate program and be enrolled at least half-time (3 credit hours) and have a current FAFSA on file in the Financial Aid office in order to be eligible for loans. All courses must be on the student’s program of study. Graduate students are eligible for up to $20,500 annually and have an aggregate loan amount of $138,500 that includes undergraduate loans.
Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Students and Financial Aid Eligibility
A Post Baccalaureate (PB) student working on Teacher Certification must be fully admitted through the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. The student must also be working with the Education Department to establish a list of courses required by the State of Missouri for Teacher Certification. Enrollment in a minimum of six hours of required coursework each semester is required to receive loans. If a student is enrolled in a course that is not listed on their program of study, the course will not be eligible for financial aid. Students who have remaining lifetime loan eligibility may receive up to $12,500 for one twelve-month period. Contact the Financial Aid Office or your advisor for a Preparatory and Teacher Certification Coursework Aid Request Form.
Post Baccalaureate Preparatory Coursework and Financial Aid Eligibility

The student must provide the Financial Aid Office with an official letter from the intended graduate college, on letterhead, that enumerates the specific courses required for entry into the program. Enrollment in a minimum of six hours of required coursework each semester is required to receive loans.
