The Humanities & Ethics Center is again partnering with Missouri Humanities for our 5th Annual Symposium! Humanities & Food: Sustenance and Sustainability in Our Communities, will focus on the ways that sustainable and local food growing and sharing build community, heal the earth, and sustain connection and collaboration. Discussions will feature topics such as historic food utopias in America, agriculture and economic growth, and the ways that regional identities are embedded in the practices of creating sustenance for the community.
Students, faculty, and staff can come and go throughout the day as your own schedule allows, but pre-registration is REQUIRED! When registering: to indicate that you’ll attend one or more talks during the day, click on the all-encompassing option: “Thursday, April 21st Symposium (Morning and Afternoon Sessions); Free.” This does not mean that you are required to attend the full day of events. Instead, you can simply attend whichever of the speakers you’d like to hear that day. But we still need you to check that box and register to let us know how many chairs to have, how much coffee to have, etc., throughout the day, etc.! There is a separate box to check if you would like to attend the Luncheon.
