This course will provide the student with an enhanced appreciation of cross-cultural factors that can influence health and disease practices across a wide range of cultural groups. Students will explore the cultural variables impacting the delivery of health promotion and disease prevention programs and services for specific ethnic groups and in diverse communities. Students will develop an understanding of the importance of providing care to patients with diverse values, beliefs, and behaviors, including tailoring delivery to meet patients’ social, cultural, and linguistic needs. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading.
