Prerequisite: Formal admission to the teacher education program.
This course provides an understanding of the philosophy, history, structure, and future direction of the middle level education, as well as how those topics relate to the characteristics of the adolescent. Topics include an overview of curriculum and instructional strategies appropriate for middle level education. These topics also consider culturally diverse populations and special needs students.
