Drury’s music department is an integral part of the university’s liberal arts tradition. More than 400 Drury students take music classes, perform in music ensembles or take individual music lessons every year. Graduates have a 93% placement rate immediately upon graduation – either in a job that requires a bachelor’s degree or being accepted into graduate school.

Drury University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Additionally, the music therapy program is accredited by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), and the music education program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Auditions for music activity grants are open to all incoming Drury students, regardless of major. Additional financial aid is available to music majors. We offer both live auditions and video auditions. Please click in the link to find out more.
Drury University invites young musicians (through grade 12) to apply to the Charles R. Hall Young Artists Competition. This competition is meant to encourage student musicians and to give them the opportunity to perform a concerto with the Drury University Orchestra.
