This course is designed to give students familiarity with the Latin American Boom and narratives after the Boom. Beginning with some precursors to the Boom, students will gain an understanding of the importance of this group of writers in both a regional (Latin American) as well as global context and will then explore the impact of the Boom for future generations of writers. All class sessions will be conducted in Spanish, and papers and tests will be written in Spanish.
