Prerequisite: PAS 650.
Clinical Medicine II is the second in a series of four Clinical Medicine courses integrating the epidemiology, risk factors (including genetics, as applicable), pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, history and physical findings, laboratory and diagnostic tests, differential diagnosis, therapeutic management, possible complications, preventative measures, prognosis, patient education and follow-up of emergent and non-emergent disorders encountered in primary care across the lifespan. The course utilizes a systems approach and is delivered through a combination of traditional lectures and problem-based learning (PBL) sessions. The topics are synchronized with and correlative to topics in Pathophysiology II, Pharmacology II, and Physical 183 Diagnosis and Provider Communications. Organ systems covered in clinical medicine II include neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, urology, and gastroenterology.
