Welcome to Academic Advising! As an integral part of the Robert and Mary Cox Compass Center, we provide a variety of resources to students and faculty. Parents and families will continue to support their student, but in new ways during the college years.

When should your student see their advisor?

If your student needs help with any of the following, suggest they schedule an appointment with their advisor.

  • Choosing a major, minor, or certificates.
  • Selecting appropriate courses during registration.
  • Creating a graduation plan and understanding graduation requirements.
  • Adding, dropping, and withdrawing from courses, if needed.
  • Understand university policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Learning to use and navigate online resources such as MyDrury and Canvas.
  • Navigating issues that affect their academic performance.
