Prof. Lowery teaches all levels of Painting, Drawing, and Foundations of Studio and Design.
He received his MFA from School of Visual Arts in NYC with an emphasis in painting and installation art.
Painting in oil, acrylic, and watercolor; drawing in a wide variety of media, and creating multi-media installations, Prof. Lowery’s work is exhibited nationally and internationally. He has had solo exhibitions in Sweden, Germany, Cyprus, Greece, Canada, and the U.S.
Prof. Lowery’s work is included in private collections across the U.S and Europe; and corporate collections such as The Phoenix Leaders Club and Eurobank Cyprus headquarters in Nicosia, Cyprus. His public works include “The Sounds of Springfield,” a mural designed and painted as part of the downtown mural project in Springfield, Missouri.
In 2019-2020, Prof. Lowery was a member of the “Contested Urbanscapes” grant, an interdisciplinary, Swedish-funded fieldwork research project. He, along with three professors from other disciplines, investigated art, creative commons, and urban spaces in Lebanon, Israel, and Cyprus: sites of past and present conflict of the Eastern Mediterranean.
His work is represented by Phoenix Athens Gallery in Athens, Greece. He is involved in Phoenix Villa Exarcheia Residency program as a visiting artist, giving feedback and advice to program participants.
