Associate Professor of Graphic and Digital Design
Matt Noblett is a designer and associate professor of Graphic & Digital Design in the Department of Design & Visual Arts at Drury University. Having worked professionally for over 23 years, he has crossed the spectrum of traditional, digital and experience design for ad agencies and large corporations applying multidisciplinary skills in the creation and growth of brand and experience design teams for Wal-Mart’s Samsclub.com, Express-Scripts (Cigna) and Target Corp.

In the Design & Visual Arts Department, Prof. Noblett utilizes the same skills and methods in industry work, to engage students in foundation studies, applying skills and interests in order to solve product design problems and create a model of design as a lifestyle and career.  Through process, technology, research and discovery, design students learn more than a set of technical skills but are able to successfully ebb and flow with the ever-growing role design plays in society.

Prof. Noblett teaches all courses supporting the Graphic & Digital Design major. He is grounded in technology with a background in illustration, graphic and digital design, branding/identity, user experience, user research and creative leadership.  His current clients incorporate a variety of skills ranging from illustration, publication design, brand identity and brand architecture, redesigning identity and visual relationships each sub brand plays within a larger organization.

Through social commentary, Prof. Noblett’s M.F.A Graphic Design Thesis focused on the evolution and decline of once thriving neighborhoods in North St. Louis, and the impact on its businesses, neighborhoods, homes and families. Throughout his career he has found a connection with community work and addressing social and economic challenges through his skills as a communicator and designer.  He has mentored the design and publication of Black History Summer Academy’s annual coloring book since 2018, is the current Vice President of the Board for Least of These, Christian County’s Food Pantry and is a current Board Member for the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
