Thomas McAlear came to Drury on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He remained at Drury and earned an MBA in 1975. He has attended executive management courses at the University of Michigan, Northwestern University and Harvard University.
Tom is retired from DaimlerChrysler where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services as well as President/CEO of Mercedes Benz Credit and DaimlerChrysler Insurance. Tom currently owns and operates the McAlear Management Group, LLC, which invests in and operates numerous businesses including Puritan automation, Puritan Arctic Equipment and Ventech LHG.
In addition to the Drury Board of Trustees, Tom has served on the Board of Visitors for the Oakland University School of Business in Rochester, Michigan. His proudest achievement is his 2005 induction into the Drury University Breech School of Business Hall of Fame.
