Steven D. Edwards retired from CoxHealth after ten years as President and CEO, and thirty total years in various roles. Under Edwards leadership, CoxHealth grew from 7,500 employee to 13,500, and grew to become a $2B corporation. The system experienced considerable growth adding hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies. CoxHealth has been recognized for outstanding quality and service and was a Forbes best employer for five consecutive years.
Prior to CoxHealth, Mr. Edwards worked at Baylor University Medical Center, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, BJC. Edwards received his undergraduate degree from Drury University and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Washington University School of Medicine. He completed a post-graduate fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
In his retirement Edwards started ImagineHealth Consulting supporting various healthcare and start up health-tech companies, and McConnell Edwards, a crisis communications firm.
