You are our customer if any of the following criteria describe you:
In other words, our department serves the entire university.
Education
Digital Learning and Online Education is responsible for recruiting and hiring online adjuncts, Canvas LMS training, evaluation of online and blended courses, and quality assurance of online courses. We also verify that the online Digital Citizenship code is being upheld by both students and instructors. We assist with support services such as Drury Direct. Our department also houses and maintains templated online courses.
LMS
Our LMS Admin works closely with Instructure (creators of Canvas) and Drury’s IT Department to ensure access and enrollment in courses, along with setting terms and continuing maintenance of the LMS.
Instructional Design
We meet with subject matter experts to help revise and transform already-existing or new content into engaging and memorable learning experiences for students that meet the course’s learning outcomes. We also guide instructors on how to apply online best practices to benefit all learners.
Training
We provide faculty training through the Canvas Faculty Resources course found on the instructors’ Canvas Dashboard. This is self-paced training with badges to mark completion. We also coordinate meetings and short training via Zoom or Teams for one-on-one and small groups. You can also schedule an appointment to meet face-to-face at Drury’s Springfield Campus by sending an email to LMSSupport@drury.edu
Instructional Design
Need help designing your course? Want to make your content more focused and engaging? Contact us by sending an email to LMSSupport@drury.edu with Course Design in the subject line.
LMS
If you find a product that you like and it provides integration with Canvas, let us know about the product and how you would like to use it. We will see if it is feasible to incorporate it with Canvas. Please be aware that while individuals might be able to use the product with a free license, integration with an LMS may require the use of paid licenses.
Miscellaneous
If you are a new instructor or teaching a course you haven’t before, you can request content to be copied to your course from another instructor’s course. To request this service, you will need to send a ticket to LMSSupport@drury.edu that includes course information and permission from the original creator (instructor that created the course).
