Drury Springfield Promise

Think you can't afford Drury? Think again.

Drury University is excited to introduce the Drury Springfield Promise (DSP), a new initiative that reinforces Drury’s commitment to the Greater Springfield region. Designed to make a Drury education more affordable for bright students regardless of their financial situation, the Springfield Promise will provide additional resources to students within a commutable distance of Drury.

Drury Springfield Promise Scholarship – $2,000

Every student who gains admission to Drury University's Day School, within the eight-county region, will receive an additional $2,000 DSP Scholarship on top of any academic scholarships they may qualify to receive.
  • All students from eligible counties will receive a $2000 DSP Scholarship.
  • Students are NOT required to file the FAFSA to receive the $2000 DSP Scholarship, but it is highly encouraged that they file, to determine their eligibility for the DSP Grant.
  • DSP Scholarship is renewable as long as the student meets Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements and is enrolled full-time each semester (12+ credit hours).

Drury Springfield Promise Grant

Admitted students who demonstrate exceptional financial need (Pell Grant eligible) will qualify for an additional DSP Grant which will limit their out-of-pocket expenses to $3,000 for tuition and required student fees.
  • Students must be admitted and file the FAFSA by February 1, 2025 to be eligible for the DSP Grant.
  • Students must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant (as determined by the FAFSA) and the Access MO State Grant (as determined by the State of Missouri).
  • DSP Grant supersedes all other Drury scholarships. This includes academic, athletic and other criteria-based scholarships.
  • Students in the Dual Degree Nursing Program with Southwest Baptist University are not eligible for the DSP Grant at any time.

Who Is Eligible?

The DSP is open to:

  • High school graduates from Greene, Christian, Dallas, Polk, Taney, Stone, Webster, and Lawrence (including all of Monett) counties
  • Homeschooled students from this region
  • OTC graduates with an Associate’s degree
  • Drury GO graduates with an Associate’s degree
  • Transfer students from 4-year schools who graduated from high schools within the eight-county area

Students receiving NCAA athletic scholarships are not eligible for the DSP grant. Eligible students must meet Drury’s admissions standards and file the FAFSA by February 1, 2025.

Affordable Cost of Attendance

The DSP Grant is for eligible Federal Pell Grant recipients and ensures their out-of-pocket cost of tuition and fees required of all students will not exceed $3,000 per year. This program also includes 20 meals per semester. Students can opt to spread out payments at $300 per month over 10 months.

Students who choose to live on campus will incur the standard room and board charges.

Perks for DSP Students

To enhance your student experience, the DSP offers several key benefits:

  • Dedicated commuter parking, lounges, and storage areas
  • Option to live on campus with regular room and board fees
  • DSP Grant students will receive a tablet during the Fall 2025 semester

Strengthening Community Ties

The DSP is part of Drury’s continued dedication to fostering community connections and providing local students with life-changing educational opportunities.  This commitment also includes the Community Partnership Grants and other elements of Drury Fusion.
