Drury University is pleased to announce the inauguration of

Dr. Jeff Frederick

as its new president, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. A week of events celebrating Dr. Frederick’s inauguration will take place from Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25, 2024.


Inaugural Week Schedule:

Monday October 21, 2024    

  • 10 a.m.: Dr. Frederick guest lectures in HIST 101 class on Springfield campus
  • 5 p.m.: Dr. Frederick guest lectures in PSYC 240 and HIST 108 classes on Monett campus

Tuesday, October 22, 2024

  • 11 a.m.: Panel Discussion on Civil Discourse Public Invited
    O’Reilly Enterprise Center, in the Judy Thompson Executive Conference Center

    Moderator: Dan Ponder
    Panel participants:
    – Abe McGull, Springfield City Councilman
    – Andrew Crocker, Representing Be Civil, Be Heard and Professor at Ozarks Technical Community College
    – Joan Gentry, League of Women Voters

  • 10 – 11 a.m.: Inauguration Ceremony Public Invited
    Stone Chapel

    • Come join us in celebrating the inauguration of our new President Dr. Jeff Frederick and his vision of One Drury.
    • Doors open at 9 a.m.
    • Faculty, Trustees, and Academic Delegates line up for processional at 9:45 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Unveiling of Presidential Plaque & Lunch on the Grounds Public Invited
    President’s Garden (if rain, O’Reilly Family Event Center) 
  • 5 – 7 p.m.: Gather on the Grounds: Charity Event Public Invited
    Panther Pad & FSC Circle (if rain, O’Reilly Family Event Center)

    • Drury University will host a celebration on the Panther Pad and the Findlay Student Center Circle to commemorate Dr. Jeff Frederick’s inauguration. Food, drink, open play pickleball, cornhole, and activities will be provided. In the chance that it rains, the event will be held in the O’Reilly Family Event Center
