Ty Thornton, LPC graduated with a Masters Degree in clinical psychology from Evangel University, and is an employee of Burrell Behavioral Health. Her primary area of focus is working with college students, addressing a variety of mental health concerns.  She especially enjoys working with students athletes and was a former college basketball player herself. Ty has experience treating a wide range of concerns, such as mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, trauma, self esteem issues and relationship/family dynamics.  In her time away from the counseling office Ty enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being outdoors or on the lake and is an avid runner and yogi.

Andrea Bench, LPC graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southwest Missouri State University and is an employee of Burrell Behavioral Health. Her primary area of focus is working with college students as they transition into adulthood so they can achieve their goals. Andrea has experience working with a wide variety of mental health concerns such as substance use, anxiety, depression, communication, relationships, stress management, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ issues and trauma. Outside of the office Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, and dogs Jack and Blue,  I enjoy running, reading and traveling for self care.

David Johnson, PLPC

David Johnson (he/him/his), PLPC graduated with a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University, and is an employee of Burrell Behavioral Health. His primary area of focus is working with students as they navigate the challenges of college life.  He enjoys creating a safe and inclusive space for students to explore their thoughts and feelings. David has experience treating a wide range of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, substance abuse, trauma,  and a variety of other mental health issues.  David’s favorite forms of self-care include taking spin classes and kayaking local rivers with his friends.
